Numbers 22:28-29 King James Version (KJV)
28 And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?
29 And Balaam said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee.
Numbers 22:28-29 New King James Version (NKJV)
28 Then the LORD opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?”
29 And Balaam said to the donkey, “Because you have abused me. I wish there were a sword in my hand, for now I would kill you!”

28 The donkey spoke this is the only time ever this happened and this was so a man that could hear from Him would listen and hear from Him. We shouldn’t need donkeys to talk for us to hear from God but we should seek His word thru the bible. The donkey was being beaten badly and it is likely that Balaam would beat the donkey to death for not moving before God allowed the donkey to speak.
29 Balaam is talking to a donkey and not seeing the power of God, we don’t need to be this blind to the Lord’s will. Balaam was trying to kill his donkey to do what the Lord had told him not to do, we sometimes stand this far in sin but instead we need to seek the Lord and His will more then anything else.
